Cycle of Your Habits

Take a step back and look at the reoccurring situations that seem to keep happening to you. You will find a pattern of some type and hopefully be able to notice the trigger (whether it be good or bad). Triggers can be something as simple as maintenance (or lack there of). Maintenance is something that seems like it takes up time (or money) because it adds a few minutes here and there on a frequent basis. In reality though, you are saving yourself a lot of time in the long run. A couple examples: keeping your house clean, changing the oil in your car when it is due for an oil change.

Taking this approach will help when it comes to recognizing something negative and putting an end to it. While you put an end to your reoccurring bad situation by tweaking your daily/weekly habits you are simultaneously creating your own luck.

You can start by doing something as simple as drinking a full glass of water when you wake up and reading an educational piece each day. If you find yourself thinking “I don’t have time for that,” then now is the perfect opportunity to strip away some of those bad habits you always seem to find the time for.
